Chryssi Dimitriou

Chryssi Dimitriou is a flutist who has dedicated her activity to her interest in contemporary music. She was born in Athens, studied in Athens with Stella Gadedi and undertook postgraduate studies, as an Alexandra Trianti and Alexandros S. Onassis scholar, with Peter Lloyd and Anders Ljungar Chapelon in Manchester, Pierre-Yves Artaud in Paris, Mario Caroli in Strasbourg and Michael Schmid in Gent. She lives and works in Brussels. Her work has featured collaborations with the Ictus ensemble and the Rosas dance company, and since 2019 she has been teaching contemporary flute at the Royal Brussels Conservatory. In 2023, she obtained her PhD in Arts from the University of Brussels with a scholarship from Alexander S. Onassis, for which she wrote her thesis entitled Remembering of bright times: Inside the palimpsest of the gaze".
