On the comic side: the tale of Petit Poucet, in its original version by Charles Perrault, interwoven with the English retelling of the tale, Tom Thumb. The story is spat out in a constant jet by the phoneme cyber-spray of Georges Aperghis, who cooks the tongue the way others cook little children. On the tragic side, there is the superb cartoon film by Flemish artist Hans Op de Beeck (with Hardt and Verpoest): the twilight wanderings of an exhausted child through endless suburbs. Short-circuiting through cannibal appetite and life as a mummy, this simultaneous dual reading of the tale delivers "a bewitching show from beginning to end", according to De Standaard.
