Step onto a grid consisting of 63 sound units — here, you become not just a spectator, but a participant, a trigger, a performer.
People Concerto is a large-scale sound installation and a collectively generated sound theater. The audience becomes the performer, activating the work through movement. With no score, no conductor, and no fixed center, the piece continuously transforms and regenerates. Each act of participation becomes a part of a shared ritual — an exploration of how sound is created, passed on, and ultimately faded.
Each step, each movement, is translated into sound. The installation remembers your path; the sound remembers your presence. Vocal and instrumental materials, recorded by Neue Vocalsolisten Stuttgart and Ictus Ensemble, are restructured through CHANG Shiuan's composition, and embedded into the space — waiting to be revealed, reshaped, and resonated with your footsteps.
You may lose your way within the installation — in doing so, you also enter the very heart of music. This is not music performed for you, but a sonic map co-created by individuals and collective efforts.
