Tom Pauwels and guitarist Yaron Deutsch got together in 2015 to realise a new work for two electric guitars by the Italian composer PIERLUIGI BILLONE. 
This adventurous project - a 70 minute sonic sculpture - is now being resumed in the form of a studio recording that will take place in La Muse en Circuit (Paris) in mid February. Shortly before at the monumental Rosas Performance Space (Van Volxemlaan 164, 1190 Brussels) the piece will receive its Belgian premiere on February 3rd, 20h00.

The work in four movements, to be played in one ‘breath’ shifts between two extremes; from modulation of static sound & electric hum to relentless bursts of fleeting harmonies, saturated with overtones. In Billone’s music, sound emanates from the impact between the human body and the instrumental environment : it is about sonic forces instead of sonic structures, about musical matter instead of music material. From the listeners ear-view it is an offering to navigate between continuously transforming landscapes, at times almost un-noticebly changing at other times bouncing back and forth through clearcut counterpoint.
