Ex Nihilo Nihil Fit

The result of a year of collective work, this evening of music and video is produced by the San Fedele Jesuit Cultural Centre in Milan, one of the most remarkable institutions of the city. This centre, which also practices popular medicine, organises silent cinema seasons, has a superb acousmonium with 40 loud speakers and a contemporary art gallery, works on art in prisons as well as publishing records and books.

On the theme of the ‘creation of the world’, which covers the institution’s entire season, young composers and young video makers collaborated on a partly premeditated evening, which gives centre stage to instantaneous invention. Acoustic instruments and sound and image processing examine the issue of representing the universe from its tiniest fragments.

The concert will be performed under the _Approfondimenti e variazioni_ heading of the 2014 Milano Musica festival (Increased Understanding and Variations), dedicated to the works of Fausto Romitelli.
